I wrote this blog of more medical spa Tech about a cool technology I believe is outstanding…
We all want to have youthful looking tight or tone skin whether this is on our face or parts of our body. But how do we achieve this through medical technology? Today’s blog is an in depth look at the technology behind two of the services we offer which is the Profound Cellulite Treatment and the Profound Non-Surgical Facelift. Cellulite is a dreadful word for many women and men. It is the dimply looking outer skin found mostly on the thighs and the back of the legs, buttocks area but also can be found on the upper arms as well. Cellulite is a fat storage area. These fat storage areas can linger despite intense dieting and workouts in some individuals. So the next step for correcting this issue, thankfully, is by Profound RF Skin Tightening.
To add to that above, skin elasticity and deep wrinkles are a part of our aging process. The loss of elasticity, collagen and hyaluronic acid are the culprits here. There are only so many creams and lotions that can reduce the signs of aging before you must consider the inevitable facelift. In today’s times and the introduction of new technologies, there are more options for individuals to choose from before having a surgical facelift, which is perfectly fine and also a great choice for correcting this issue. Again Profound RF Skin Tightening is scientifically research proven to be considered as an option for a non-surgical facelift.
SO what is this technique?
Skin tightening machines, lasers, fraxels, ablations, etc., etc., are not new for attempts at skin tightening. In fact since 2010, according to the Journal Clinical and Aesthetics Dermatology, they released a study there has been an explosion of different types of hardware and they looked at different company products to which they reviewed and gave opinions. Fast forward to today imagine what we have now? Back then it was almost a learning curve to hone down these skin tightening processes. So now in 2019 we have a nice idea of what works best, and Dr. Robinson and his clinicians settled on the Radio Frequency(RF)/Micro-needling(MN) approach to skin tightening as well as rejuvenation.
This type of technology broken down is this. Profound RF is simply a cartridge of needles that fit on the machine wand. More importantly, these needles are able to deliver at the same time the micro-needles are entering your skin… a type of radio wave at specific frequency that begins a process of –for lack of better verbiage-lightly damage very specific layers of the subcutaneous and dermal layers of the skin. In fact the needles drive to about 3mm or 0.11811 inches beneath the skin and the RF is delivered near the tip. Before the tips are insulated and protected because there is not a need for that layer to be exposed to RF. This combination of VERY controlled RF signals, Time of Exposure of RF and heat output at that frequency is the optimal range that does three things:
- Produces New Natural Collagen Production
- Produces New Elastin Production
- Produces New Production of Hyaluronic Acid
These three important promoted by RF-MN are the building blocks of our youthful skin and the ridding of cellulite. Interestingly, research scientists and physicians have had or are continuing on-going studies with this technology to date. Just this past January 2019, a completion of a randomized Cellulite study was submitted to ClinicalTrials.gov for which the review is still underway as of May 29, 2019. Do not worry; there are a plethora of studies that have already been published such as this study from the Journal of Dermatology Surgery where they found a 100% response rate in there studied individuals. A 100% response rate! This means that every treated tissue showed a positive response for the collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production along with positive aesthetic appearances.
The one variable that the Profound RF/MN treatment has that some folks might not like to hear is TIME. It takes time for the results to fully appear. On average you will start to see improvement 6-8 weeks with the full results around 3-6 months. Obviously lifestyle, genetics and the amount of treatment needed will change the time variable.
